Family of Fort Mill teen Logan Gurley are inviting the community to a memorial service for him at 7 p.m. Sunday at Pitcairn Park in Tega Cay.

Crews were called to the park on Triton Drive around 4 p.m. Monday to look for the 16-year-old teen who was missing, and his body was later recovered by Charlotte Fire. Gurley was found underwater at the park, where officials said he had gone to swim with friends.

At Sunday’s planned memorial service, the family plans to have a candlelight vigil and speak about Gurley, who was a well-known basketball player at Fort Mill High School. He was a rising sophomore.
