The Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) program at Nation Ford High School is celebrating its recognition for being one of the top units in the nation.

The school’s program was recently honored as winner of the 2022-2023 Honor Squad and MRCA Award given by the Marine Corps Reserve Association.

“This means that for the 2022-2023 school year we were the #1 MCJROTC unit in region 2 for our unit’s exceptional overall performance in the 2022-2023 school year,” said Catherine Kendall, a NAFO senior and JROTC member. “This means that we are one of the top 4 MCJROTC units in the country.”

The MCRA award is judged by Cadet Participation in a variety of events including inspection, citizenship, scholarship achievement, and extracurricular event.

The award means Nation Ford has been named honor squad for the 14th year in a row.  Kendall said the unit is extremely proud of the award, something they worked very hard for.
