Edward Tatum is accused of purposefully exposing himself March 4, 2023, to a young female employee of Chick-Fil-A in Fort Mill.

A Fort Mill man was arrested Monday on allegations that he exposed himself on purpose to a young female employee of the Baxter Chick-Fil-A, authorities said.

Edward Finnell Tatum, 44, of Meadowcroft Way, was charged with one count of indecent exposure for a March 4 incident at the fast-food restaurant on Highway 160 West.

But the restaurant manager told police that the suspect had actually exposed himself twice before the March 4 incident. In the last case, Tatum was driving a 2013 Toyota Camry while picking up a mobile order around lunchtime on that Saturday.

“When the juvenile female victim, an employee of the restaurant, approached the driver’s window to provide him with his order, the defendant pulled his pants down maliciously and indecently exposed his genitals to her,” an arrest warrant says.

The incident was initially reported to police on March 9 and police followed up later in a discussion with the manager. Probable cause for the arrest was based on police investigation, as well as victim and witness statements and identification through a photo-lineup, a Fort Mill police report says.

If convicted, Tatum faces a fine or prison time of not more than three years, or both, according to S.C. Statutes.

Tatum was arrested Monday and has since been released on bond from the York County Detention Center. According to his Facebook page, Tatum is married with children.
