The Fort Mill Sun received reports that Koehler was found after family asked for a welfare check on him. The source said that his decomposed body was found inside the home and he may have been dead for as long as a year.

A relative living in the home was reportedly interviewed by police, but authorities have not confirmed that. Maj. Zachary said no charges or arrests have been made in the case.
