The Fort Mill Police Department says an employee tested positive in the last 24 hours to the COVID-19 virus.

Here is a Tuesday statement from Police Maj. Bryan Zachary:

Within the past twenty-four hours, information has been received confirming that an employee of the Fort Mill Police Department has received a positive result, with regard to a test for the COVID-19 virus.

All recommendations by the CDC and South Carolina DHEC were consistently adhered to, and those protocols and procedures will continue to be followed, in an effort to assure the safety of the public and FMPD personnel.

On March 17, the Town of Fort Mill closed Municipal Court and encouraged visitors to the police department to only visit the lobby for emergency situations. They said for non-emergency situations, residents should call 803-547-2022. For emergencies, call 911.
