Tom Audette, a two-term trustee on the Fort Mill School Board, is running for the District 1 seat on York County Council.

His announcement comes after Council Chairman Michael Johnson announced his intention to run for a seat in the state Senate.

“I am now entering my 8th year as a school board member on the Fort Mill School Board,” Audette said in a press release. “I want to thank everyone for your support and the opportunity to be part of such a great school district and board. After prayerful thought, I have decided to run for the York County Council District 1 seat in 2020. I am looking forward to this opportunity to continue to serve the public as a York County Councilman.”

As a Christian Conservative Republican, Audette is married to Dianne Audette, and they have five daughters. He has an MBA degree from Columbia Southern University, a BS degree from Eastern Oregon University, an AS degree in Network Support, an AS in Programming from Champlain College and a Certificate in Financial Planning from Saint Michael’s College. He also has a Six Sigma certification along with several S.C. school board legislative certifications.

Audette has been with AT&T for two decades, where he currently serves as a Regional Area Manager with teams overseeing corporate business clients throughout the Southeast, along with all their additional locations both domestic and internationally. He said he also enjoys being an outdoors sportsman with family and friends.
