Nation Ford High School Band (Contributed photo)

Nation Ford High School has only been open since 2007, which makes their band’s 8th state championship all the more impressive.

The band competed Saturday in the SC Class AAAA State Championships at Spring Valley High School in Columbia, capturing yet another championship. White Knoll High School came in second place, with Lexington High School placing third.

During the championship, the band took home caption awards for Best Music and Best Overall Effect while tying with White Knoll for Best Visual.

If you want to support the band, the school’s boosters and alumni are holding an Oyster Roast and Barbecue from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Springfield Pool Club House. The event is located at 420 Horton Grove Road in Fort Mill. It is all you can eat.
