The Extraordinaires will perform July 12 in Fort Mill.

Fort Mill continues its free Summer Concert Series this Friday, July 12, with a performance from The Extraordinaires.

The Charlotte- and Hickory-based group will perform a blend of hits from the last several decades at Veterans Park (106 N. White St, Fort Mill, SC 29715). The venue opens at 6 p.m. with several food truck vendors selling a variety of food, including hot dogs, chicken tenders and BBQ. The concert begins at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, Aug. 3, locals can come to Main Street for the town’s combination concert and hot pepper eating contest.

Cassette Rewind will perform in Fort Mill on Aug. 3.

That event will feature 80s tunes at 7 p.m. from “Cassette Rewind,” a group that performs various pop hits from that decade. The event will also feature a Hot Pepper Eating Contest sponsored by PuckerButt Pepper Company. Food truck dining will be available during the event as well.

Please note that no pets, coolers or outside alcohol, food or drink are allowed at the events.

Upcoming Movies in the Park

Fort Mill’s ‘Movies in the Park’ will present “Marmaduke” on Friday, July 19.

Marmaduke

With a cast that includes Lee Pace and William H. Macy, as well as the voices of Owen Wilson, Emma Stone and George Lopez, the story revolves around the adventures of a Great Dane named Marmaduke. The movie begins at dusk (around 8:30 p.m.).

Local families can bring their blankets and chairs to Veterans Park and enjoy the free movie with your family under the stars! Concessions will be available for purchase.

Plus, Fort Mill will also feature its rescheduled movie “Ice Age: Collision Course” on Friday, Aug. 9 in Veterans Park. Featuring the voices of Ray Ramano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary and Queen Latifah, the movie follows Manny the mammoth and his friends as they search for ways to fend off a swarm of impending asteroids. The movie begins around 8:30 p.m. and concessions will be available for purchase at this event as well.
