York County deputies had their hands full Thursday night at the Clarion Hotel near Carowinds Boulevard in Fort Mill.
The hotel (Yelp review) had called them because two drunk females were causing a disturbance near the hotel’s Mexican restaurant. A sheriff’s report explains what officers saw when they found the out-of-state visitors on the eighth floor:
“(Katelyn) Cobb was sitting down, bent over at the waist with her face on the floor in front of her. She was making some noise and hitting her head. She was not able to comprehend anything we said. We sat her up and she started going in and out of consciousness. She then vomited on herself. EMS was notified to respond.”
Deputies opened Cobb’s purse to look for her ID and found a large wad of cash in large denominations. The other woman, Martha Garcia, was less intoxicated, but still drunk, a report says.
“When asked why they were in Fort Mill, Garcia was unable to provide an answer other than to say for the CIA,” a deputy’s report says. “As we were dealing with the women, a black male exited the elevator, walked to a bedroom, then back to the elevator. Garcia stated, ‘What if I said that was our pimp?’ A few minutes later, Garcia took a video call on her phone. The video on the screen was a black male.”
In their incident report, the officers concluded this: “We believe that these two women were here prostituting.”
Cobb was transported by ambulance to CMS Pineville while Garcia went to her room for the night. A report says Garcia is a 28-year-old woman from Wisconsin while Cobb is a 20-year-old Oklahoma resident.
No arrests were made.
